ABOUT
IPMA
The
International
Professional Managers Association (IPMA) is registered as a
non-profit company Limited by Guarantee and Registered in England
No: 3231815.
IPMA is an International Examining, Licensing and Regulatory
Professional body formed for the purpose of providing practicing
managers with the opportunity to participate and to be part of the
process of improving managerial performance and effectiveness in all
areas of business and industrial activity.
Managers of today work in an era of constant change. Increasing
competitive pressures, rapid developments in Information Technology,
Telecommunications, and a more demanding society altogether pose
challenges crying out for effective solutions. Organisations today
therefore need to have skilled Managers who can address these
demanding challenges and have the ability to develop and implement
the most effective business strategies to solve these problems.
Our primary objective, as an International examining, licensing
and regulatory professional body, is to improve the key skills
required for effective management. Through our examination and
licensing qualifying scheme we strive to create awareness and
understanding of new technology and new techniques of management so
that our qualified managers have the necessary skills to improve
their personal effectiveness for their organisations and also to
enable them to have a satisfying and rewarding career in Management.
We also support and promote professionalism in the manner
managers conduct themselves when dealing with people and
organisations in the business and work environment. Through our
membership and examination scheme we also ensure that our members
uphold the high standards of management skills and expertise
required by all employers in all sectors of economic activity. Our
examination and membership structure will assure potential employers
about your qualities and that you are competent and have the
abilities to perform and deliver results.
The subjects, as contained in our examination schemes, have been
designed to give the student all the necessary knowledge and
understanding required in today’s business and management
environment. By working through our examination and licensing
qualifying scheme, the student will acquire, in time, knowledge and
skills so that he will have the confidence and expertise to make the
right decisions.
Our
IPMA UK examination scheme requires students to complete 4
levels of examinations and assessments. These are:
Foundation Level - Diploma
Intermediate Level - Advanced Diploma
Professional Level Part1 - Post Graduate Certificate and
Professional Level Part 2 - Post Graduate Diploma
Students must complete at, Professional Level Part 2 – Post
Graduate Diploma, a Qualifying Project. This Qualifying Project must
be related to their own work environment and for their organisation
before attaining the Post Graduate Diploma of our Association.
The detailed
Syllabus of the 4 levels of examination are found in the IPMA UK
Global Website.
Qualifying Diplomas are qualifications in their own right.
However, to become a Professional and Licensed member of the
Association, all Post - Graduate Members of the Association (Post
Graduate Diploma Holders) must complete a 12 months internship
programme at their place of work or at an approved alternative
organisation. Through mentoring and coaching, the intern will, in
time, achieve a higher level of performance and managerial
effectiveness.
Our Association places great emphasis on this Internship programme
and through a well structured system this process is both motivating
and challenging. Details of the Qualifying project and Internship
programmes are found in our IPMA UK website at
